It is with sadness that I report that Big Tail has passed away.
We had another 'episode' and he didn't make it. Lucky has used up another life (how many to fish get? I hope it is more than 2!!) but is looking perky again, and Hannibal doesn't seem at all phased. We've gone to more drastic measures to maintain pH in the aquarium. It seems to be working because today I tested the pH and it had hardly changed since yesterday. Good sign.
Lets hope they survive while we're in Vancouver (Andrew and I will be there for the weekend plus a bit)...

My condolences to you and Andrew on the passing of Big Tail. He was a brave little fishy and will no doubt enjoy life in the big aquarium in the sky. We can be thankful that he exceeded his expiry date (ie. 15 days) by a significant period of time.

No, I think Andrew bagged him and disposed of him in the trash. Not very elegant, but we don't have any garden to bury him in :(
