Master Chef

Last weekend there was a consensus at Apartment 915 that the occupants were officially sick of Italian (especially lasagne), stir fries and steak'n'veggies. This lead to an internet search and the discovery of a chicken tikka masala recipe (that didn't ask for marinading the chicken for 24 hours as we didn't have that long to wait).

The adventure started with a trip to the supermarket, which extended to searching all the grocery stores within walking distance for garam masala and/or cardomon. Unfortunatley we not successful and had to make do with cloves and nutmeg.

Next Andrew made the marinade and we let the chicken sit in that for a bit. Cooking the chicken was a bit of an ordeal with our rather cool grill which required a lot of sitting around in case it burnt...

Grilling the chicken and adding the masala and garnish

Ready to devour after a long time in the kitchen

The end result was fantastic!! A change is as good as a holiday :)

Then Andrew found a cranberry muffin recipe... the results are really quite delicious!

Hi Els,

It looks like you've got a very well trained fiancee there! It seems your cooking of late is a bit more successful than mine - it all looks very yummy. Now i feel like muffins. Maybe I'll make a batch of the apple ones which was the only useful recipe I got from year 9 home ec....

Hello! Sounds very yummy, although I'm not much of one for endless preparation and watching the food cok, so I'm not sure if I should try it.

Say Hi to Adnrew for me, and tell him Kate Z (NYSF) has got in touch with me after 3 years of living in the same city, and she's engaged too.

Oh, and I met someone today who reminded me a lot of you. She didn't look like you, but had many similar mannerisms. I was amost compelled to tell her this except that people tend to freak out about those sorts of things, so I didn't.

I hope both you and Andrew are happy and healthy!
