Well I've been a bit slack of late, haven't I? Sorry about that. I s'pose that means I must have been busy, but I'm not sure I can say that's a valid excuse.
I found a nice orchestra to play in - the Northwest Symphony Orchestra - a friendly bunch of people who conveniently rehearse halfway between my work and home! Still waiting for a response from a choir that I contacted. It seems that most people break over the summer, so I may just have to wait until later in the year.
Since I last wrote, Andrew and I have ventured out a bit with the help of a hire car. Andrew got the car to do his driving test, and we kept it for the weekend. The weather was great and we went out in search of some flying fields. We were successful in finding the fields, less successful in finding people flying model gliders...
Field at Busse Woods (5 minute drive)
Valley Hawks R C Soaring Club field in Hampshire Woods
(40 mins drive)
We were really out in the country here!

Flight trails (from the real planes)
I was quite amazed by the elevated storages around here. They look like a field of mushrooms!
Also on the hire car weekend Andrew and I ventured to the nearest Walmart. It was my first foray in to the massive world of Walmart. They really do have everything you could possibly want, all in the one sprawling store. Andrew and I picked up a laundry bucket, a mop, some anti-static spray and two African violets. The violets are going quite well in our living room :)
Also at the shopping centre with Walmart was a fantastic store call Whole Foods. They stock organic veggies, a good range of international foods and yummy things like Green & Black's Hot Chocolate Powder. That was an expensive trip :} When I spoke to some other people about this they suggested that I try Trader Joe's - which is much closer to our apartment and apparently not quite so pricey. This weekend however Andrew and I are fighting off colds (Andrew's is in full swing and I think I'm getting it too, but I hope not!), so we couldn't even be bothered going to our local (as in 500 m away) supermarket.

Dear Elsie
Sorry to hear you are both "crook". Take good care of yourselves. We all hope you are better SOON.
Nancy
P.S> the bike looks really good. What about Andrew getting one?
