We've had a visit from our friend Mikaila this week - I very much enjoyed hosting someone so keen to cook us dinner on multiple occasions :) Last weekend we showed her round Arlington Heights and the suburbs. With the sudden change to cooler weather (apparently this is the coldest start to October in 22 years, third coldest on record), a trip to Burlington Coat factory was in order! Other highlights included the Halloween Store, the Vitamin Shoppe, live Blues at the Blues Bar and a trip to the Botanic Gardens. Mikaila also managed to fit in a lot of activities downtown while we were at work including an architecture river cruise, visits to the Art Institute and the Museum of Surgical Science and a trip up to the top of Willis (formerly Sears) Tower. These photos are mostly from the botanic gardens adventure.
